Game: Ticket to Ride

When my husband and I find a fun game, we tend to play it excessively. A few years ago, we bought Settlers of Catan for my birthday. My sister-in-law was staying with us, and we talked her into playing at least six games in one weekend! We even woke her up early on Saturday morning with a cup of coffee to convince her to play.

Last week, we repeated the excessive game-playing with my mom and the game Ticket to Ride. We may have played seven games. While we love Settlers, Ticket to Ride is great for different reasons:

• Game play is typically shorter (about 40 minutes)
• Only two players are required (Settlers requires at least three)
• Since players can only complete one type of play per turn, the turns are much quicker. In Settlers,  one person's turn may last several minutes.

We enjoy both games immensely and highly recommend them.
