Movie: Pride and Prejudice - Only The Good Version

A few weeks ago, I made the mistake of watching Pride and Prejudice again. I had hated it the first time. Since that experience was on a bus during choir tour many years ago, I thought the "new" version with Keira Knightley deserved another chance. Nope. It was still TERRIBLE! Rather than properly develop the characters, much time was wasted on scenery and music. Worst of all, the scenes with Mr. Darcy were overly romanticized and destroyed. Not okay.

To cleanse my brain from the awfulness, I listened to the audiobook. Wow. It is so good. Jane Austen developed the characters so well, with a wonderful mixture of flaws and admirable traits. If you haven't read (or listened to) the book, you are missing out.

While listening to the audiobook, I recognized many lines from the movie. Not the "new" version, but the good one. Many of the lines are taken directly from the book. The casting is awesome. Oh, it is just so good. Watch it!

A NOTE TO GUYS: This movie is for you, too. You will be a more cultured person after watching it, and I am sure your significant other would love to watch with you.
