Get Excited for the Olympics: 3 Fun Performances

Need some help getting excited about figure skating? I am eagerly anticipating the figure skating portion of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Here are a few performances that made me love the sport:

1. Oksana Baiul and Viktor Petrenko - They were skaters from the Ukraine soon after the USSR dissolved. Oksana's father left when she was young. She was raised by her mother and grandparents, each of whom passed away by the time she was 15. With Viktor Petrenko's help, Oksana's coach became her guardian and coached her to the Olympics, where she won gold. Oksana and Viktor performed this routine together at the exhibition.

2. Kurt Browning, Scott Hamilton, and Paul Wylie - Three of the great men's skaters from the 1990s have a footwork skate-off in this performance.

3. Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov - A Russian married team that won Olympic gold in 1988 and 1994. Sergei would tragically have a heart attack and die on the ice in 1995.
