Friday Fun: Falling

Falling is funny. Painful and dangerous, but also funny. I've done my share.

My most public fall occurred in a stairwell during undergrad. After chapel, students would head down the stairs to check their mailbox on the way to lunch. One day, I beat the rush, checked my mail, then attempted to go back up the stairs against the crowd. A few stairs in, I fell hard, whole-body-down-including-head hard. Picking myself up, I caught the eyes of a good twenty-five people and laughed. In my opinion, it is more awkward to fall alone than to catch an observer's eye and laugh together.
