Friday Fun: Pranks

I used to work in a cubicle in a room full of chest-high cubicles. About twenty other people who shared my job title and description occupied the adjoining cubicles. I worked the late shift, from noon to nine p.m.

On April Fools' Day, I decided to pull a prank on my coworkers. I waited until the day shift and higher-ups had left for the day, then put a rubber band around the sprayer nozzle of our office's kitchen sink. This was a prank my family members have pulled for years, and I admit that I did not fully think through the ramifications of soaking a coworker. Chuckling to myself, I returned to my desk.

I didn't have to wait long. We soon heard a shout from the kitchen, then an angry coworker marched into the room. He was soaked. I mean, he had a good basketball-sized soaked spot in the middle of his shirt. And he wasn't happy.

He began accusing random coworkers of pulling the not-so-funny (but actually hilarious) prank. I quickly got back to work, realizing the potential consequences of my actions. Of all the people I knew, he was the person most deserving of a prank. He pranked people all the time: taping our supervisor's mouse so it wouldn't work, leaving garbage in someone's cubicle, and much, much more. If he knew I was behind the soaking, my work life would become a never-ending series of pranks.

My dinner break came at just the right time, allowing me to flee from the continuing accusations and excitedly tell my husband the story. I was never accused. Many people consider me the innocent, quiet type, and that really worked in my favor this time. Ah, sweet revenge. Minus the revenge. Ah, sweet pranks...? Anyway. It was fun.

What is the best prank you have pulled? This is the best one I have heard of lately:
