I am officially an author. Hard copies of two books were unexpectedly delivered this morning. Emailing manuscripts back and forth felt a little abstract, but the hard copies are real. The words I wrote are actually printed in books!
The books I received were children's readers: North Carolina: The Tar Heel State
and Wyoming: The Equality State. I recently finished writing four books about snakes also, but they will not be published until next year.
Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteWow, Davy! This is awesome! I'm in the process of writing a children's book also (completely unrelated to the subjects you have..don't worry..I'm not competition ;) can you tell me the basics to how to get the ball rolling? For ex. Did you have to find a publisher or do it yourself? How do you get your books on amazon? --your second cousin, Erin
ReplyDeleteHi, Erin! One of my former classmates is an editor and gave me the opportunity to do some freelance writing on specific topics. The publishing company did everything but write the text. As a result, I do not have much advice about getting your own work published. What is your book about? I hope you find a publisher!
DeleteCongratulations! I'm proud of you.
ReplyDeleteThey are childrens books that focus on the basic history of their nation within the context of family and help them to realize that their nation has God-given gifts that make it unique. How we use our gifts can either be as strengths or weaknesses depending on if we allow our character to be developed. Very vague explanation but you get the gist of it...do you mind me asking which publisher company you used? And would this kind of work possibly fit in with your editor friend? I'm just looking at all my options. Also, how much does it cost to get a book complete from beginning to end? You can email me at aehein@gmail.com. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'll send you an email. :)
